SUMMARY:Orchestra of the Swan - Henry V & Facade
DESCRIPTION:Walton arr. Ted Watson                As You Like it \nWalton arr. Ted Watson               Henry V \nWalton                                                 Façade \nConductor                                           Bruce O’Neil \nSoprano                                               Jennifer Witton \nNarrator                                               TBC \nReciter                                                  Tamsin Dalley \nHenry V is the heroic score Walton provided for Laurence Olivier’s film of Shakespeare’s Henry V\, stirring patriotic feelings during World War II. Tonight we get a rare chance to enjoy the chamber ensemble reduction by Ted Watson\, a musician connected so strongly with the Royal Shakespeare Company. \nWilliam Walton was only 19 when he composed Façade\, jazzy settings of surreal poetry by Edith Sitwell. Narrated through a megaphone from behind a painted curtain\, its premiere 100 years ago caused a furore. Today it is appreciated as one of the most delicious works in the English music catalogue.

SUMMARY:The Choral Pilgrimage 2020: The Call of Rome
DESCRIPTION:2020 marks the 20th anniversary of The Sixteen’s annual Choral Pilgrimage tour. Since 2000 the choir have travelled the length and breadth of the UK\, discovering some of the country’s most beautiful architecture and building relationships with wonderful communities\, many of which they return to year after year. \nThis year’s tour focuses on Rome\, a city which has inspired countless pilgrimages\, and where each of the four composers in this year’s programme created some of their finest work. Motets by Josquin and F.
