Saints and Pilgrims

Hereford Chamber Choir, accompanied by professional orchestra Central England Camerata, and conducted by Simon Harper, presents a programme of 20th Century English choral music. The programme includes a rare performance of Elgar’s The Banner of St. George, and two works by Vaughan Williams in the 150th anniversary year of his birth: An Oxford Elegy and Five Mystical Songs, in a new orchestration by Edward Pullin, alongside pieces by Howells and Holst. The concert will also feature readings of poems by Ursula Vaughan Williams, presented by students of Hereford Cathedral School. The concert will take place at 7.30 pm on Friday 10 June in Hereford Cathedral, as the opening event of the Friends of Hereford Cathedral festival.
