Music for a Medici Wedding

In 1518, Lorenzo de Medici, Duke of Urbino, married Madeleine de la Tour d’Auvergne, a close relative of Francis I of France. As a wedding gift from the French court, a sumptuous manuscript of music was prepared, which included a selection of some of the finest works by leading composers of the age. Border Voices perform a selection of these pieces, along with the Missa Alleluia, by Jean Mouton, the editor of the manuscript.
