The extraordinary Norwegian trumpet virtuoso, Tine Thing Helseth joins Manchester Camerata for an eclectic programme mixing classical favourites with a contemporary twist. One hundred years on from the earth-shattering Battle of the Somme, Deborah Pritchard’s Trumpet Concerto, Seven Halts on the Somme takes its inspiration from Hughie O’Donaghue’s acclaimed series of paintings of the same name. The concert also includes Albinoni’s much loved Oboe Concerto with its ravishing slow movement, a sparkling Trumpet Concerto by Bach and finishes with Grieg’s charming and dance-inspired Holberg Suite.
