Hermitage Ensemble – A Concert of Russian Sacred Music and Folk Songs by acclaimed St Petersburg Choir

The Hermitage Ensemble will be in concert at Marden Church on Sunday April 17th at 4pm. Tickets £8 including afternoon tea.
This superlative Russian choir was formed in St Petersburg in 1997 to keep alive the great traditions of Russian sacred music and folk song.
Members of the Ensemble are chosen from amongst the finest soloists performing in St Petersburg’s opera (including the Kirov, Mariinsky and Maly), musical theatre and churches. Their concert includes includes motets and liturgical settings from the Russian Orthodox Church together with Russian folk songs that display a range of emotions and, with their rhythms and melodies, convey all that is characteristic of the ‘Russian Soul’.
