Patrick Hemmerle Piano Recital

There is much sense of fantasy in the wonderful music being played by the much-acclaimed French pianist Patrick Hemmerle. His programme comprises Bach’s virtuosic Prelude (Fantasy) in A minor BWV 922; Schumann’s dramatic and powerful Kreisleriana; the second of Chopin’s four beautiful Ballades; the first of Liszt’s ever popular Mephisto Waltzes; and Ravel’s dark and atmospheric Gaspard de la Nuit.

Patrick is now based in Cambridge and is the Musician-in-Residence at Clare Hall, Cambridge University. He studied at the Versailles Conservatoire, the Glasgow Royal Academy of Music and Drama, the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris and the Conservatoire of Rueil under the tutelage of distinguished musicians and he has won a number of prestigious prizes. His career as concert pianist has led him to play in many festivals. Among the most important are the festivals of La Roque d’Anthéron and Bagatelle in France and the festival of French music in Venice. He has also worked on several occasions with the Alliance Française, for which he undertook a tour of Italy.
